DESCRIPTION:Workers’ Compensation Claims Management Level 2 is a more advanced workshop covering more complex worker’s compensation topics. This comprehensive session will provide an in-depth discussion of various WSIB entitlements including psychological and mental stress. It will focus on strategic considerations for employers in responding to such claims and tools for managing complex RTW scenarios. Completion of the Level 1 workshop is not required to participate in this training session. However\, it is best suited for individuals that have experience and more advanced knowledge of WSIB and workers’ compensation matters. \nSpecific topics will include: \n\nLoss of Earnings (LOE) benefits\nPermanent Impairments and NEL award\nRe-employment and Cooperation Obligations\nPsycho-traumatic Disability and Chronic Pain Disability benefits\nMental Stress claims\nWork Reintegration and Work Transition\nObjections and Appeals\nManaging employer costs\n\nWhat to expect:\nLegislation\, policy and most importantly\, tools and strategies to effectively manage the topics covered. Course materials will be provided to participants. Handouts will be provided. Highly interactive – case study discussions and ability to share experiences and ask questions.

DESCRIPTION:The world of workers’ compensation can be complex and frustrating for those responsible for managing WSIB claims. Workers’ Compensation Claims Management Level 1 is a comprehensive workshop that will assist Claims Management Personnel\, Human Resources Personnel\, Managers and Supervisors to understand the obligations that arise when workplace injuries/illnesses occur\, tools to navigate the claims management process\, and how to respond effectively to issues that can arise over the course of a WSIB claim. This level is geared towards individuals with entry-level to mid-level knowledge of workers’ compensation claims management topics and is also often taken as refresher training. \nThis seminar will address: \n\nKey employer obligations set out in Ontario’s Workplace Safety and Insurance Act\, 1997\nClaim suppression\nEffective accident investigations and how to complete the Employer’s Report of Injury (Form 7)\nMonitoring Claim Costs\nWSIB decisions and a review of time-limits\nTechniques and strategies for effective claims management beginning at the date of injury\nAn overview of the Early and Safe Return to Work (ESRTW) process\, including forms to be completed\, and techniques for overcoming barriers\n\nWhat to expect:\nLegislation\, policy and most importantly\, tools and strategies to effectively manage the topics covered.
